Recently, the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology announced the top ten scientific and technological progress achievements in Jiangsu's industry sectors for 2024, Changguang Huaxin's "High-Efficiency High-Power Semiconductor Laser Chip Technology and Industrialization" project was successfully selected.

The selection was initiated by the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology, focusing on eight major fields: basic research, civil engineering, water conservancy, transportation and construction, new materials, chemical industry and textiles, environmental energy, equipment manufacturing, modern agriculture, electronic information, and biomedicine. It aims to select landmark achievements with major scientific discoveries, breakthroughs in "bottleneck" technologies, or industrial transformation. This selection emphasizes the originality, disruptiveness, and ability to solve "hard technology" challenges of the technologies, serving as an important benchmark reflecting Jiangsu's strength in scientific and technological innovation!

Laser Chip Technology and Industrialization" Project
The Changguang Huaxin team achieved a major breakthrough in ultra-high power single-chip design and fabrication technology, successfully developing a 132W ultra-high power single chip, ushering in the "hundred-watt era" for single chips! The series of products and technologies won the first prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology, among which the 50W single chip was awarded the 2025 Top Ten Optical Industry Technology Award for its excellent power stability and electro-optical efficiency.
In the field of vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser chips, the team overcame key technologies in multi-junction cascade structure design and low-loss epitaxy, significantly increasing the photoelectric efficiency of surface-emitting chips from 61% twenty years ago to 74%, breaking the international challenge of efficiency stagnation in this field for nearly 20 years and setting a new industry efficiency benchmark.
The team has broken through key technologies across the entire chain of high-efficiency high-power semiconductor laser chips, achieved engineering production and mass supply, strongly promoting the domestic substitution process.
