Illuminating All Things, Empowering the Future | Suzhou Photonics Industry Development Conference Successfully Held

From July 10 to 12, the "2024 China (Suzhou) Photonics Industry Development Conference and the 15th National Laser Processing Industry Forum" was grandly held in Suzhou. The conference focused on "Photonics+" empowering industrial applications, covering fields such as intelligent photonics manufacturing, new displays, semiconductors, photomedical, new energy, photonic chips, advanced measurement and testing, marine communication and detection. Renowned academicians, scholars, experts, and entrepreneurs from home and abroad gathered to comprehensively interpret new technologies, achievements, and applications in the photonics field.

As an IDM semiconductor laser chip manufacturer, Changguang Huaxin's products are applied in intelligent photonics manufacturing, optical communication, optical sensing, optical displays, etc., making it a typical example of "Photonics+" empowering industrial applications.

01 | Conference Opening Ceremony

Min Dayong, Chairman and General Manager of Changguang Huaxin, as a corporate representative, introduced the progress and development layout of Changguang Huaxin's technological products to the attending guests. Over more than ten years, Changguang Huaxin has successively launched more than 200 laser chip and module products that were first released domestically and even globally, leading the domestic market share and being a leading enterprise in the semiconductor laser chip field.

Academician Dieter Bimberg is a member of the German Academy of Sciences, European Academy of Sciences, foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the US National Academy of Engineering, executive director of the Sino-German "Bimberg" Center for Green Photonics, and advisor to Suzhou Changguang Huaxin Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. Invited by Changguang Huaxin, Academician Bimberg attended the conference and delivered the keynote report "Energy efficiency of optical communication in data centers," sharing designs for higher energy-efficient VCSEL devices.

Before the opening ceremony, Chairman Min Dayong and Academician Bimberg were interviewed by Suzhou TV and the Laser Processing Special Committee. This conference gathered top talents in the global photonics field, and with Suzhou's mature manufacturing foundation, both expressed support for Suzhou's development of the photonics industry and confidence in the successful hosting of this photonics industry conference.

The afternoon keynote reports were hosted by Changguang Huaxin Chairman Min Dayong, with nine academicians, experts, entrepreneurs from the photonics and laser fields, and industry leaders from information and communication technology delivering wonderful presentations.

02 | Led the "Photonic Chips and Materials Development Special Session"

Laser chips are known as the "crown jewel" and are key core devices empowering "Photonics+" industrial applications. As an IDM company deeply engaged in the semiconductor laser chip field for over ten years, Changguang Huaxin led the "Photonic Chips and Materials Development Special Session," inviting representative research institutes, experts, and enterprises from the photonic chip industry to share the latest research results and successful application cases. This deeply built an exchange platform integrating "industry, academia, research, and application" to promote the application and innovation of photonic chips. Dr. Wang Jun, Vice Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Changguang Huaxin, chaired the meeting.

Dr. Tan Shaoyang, Project Researcher at Changguang Huaxin, delivered "Research and Industrialization of High-Power, High-Brightness, High-Efficiency Semiconductor Laser Chips" A special report introducing a double-junction single-bar chip with continuous room temperature power exceeding 132W, and the technical breakthroughs achieved in structural design and manufacturing technology.

Liu Jianping, General Manager of Gallium Sharp Optoelectronics, a Changguang Huaxin affiliated company, delivered "GaN Composite Optical Cavity Structure Visible Light Laser Chip" A special report introducing the team's single-bar 5W optical power, 40% electro-optical efficiency blue laser chip, as well as laser chips in the ultraviolet and green light bands.

03 | Full Series Product Display at Booth B11

Changguang Huaxin showcased a full range of products at booth B11, including high-power semiconductor laser chips, LiDAR and 3D sensing chips, high-speed optical communication chips, devices, fiber-coupled modules, arrays, and direct semiconductor lasers, comprehensively demonstrating Changguang Huaxin's horizontal expansion and vertical extension capabilities, attracting batches of industry visitors for discussions and inquiries.

04 | "Changguang Huaxin Night"

On the evening of July 11, after the conference keynote reports, Changguang Huaxin held the "Changguang Huaxin Night" reception dinner. The soft Wu dialect and Jiangnan folk tunes allowed guests to interact and communicate in a relaxed atmosphere, deepening understanding and discussing new opportunities in photonics and lasers.
